Why a Style Guide?
The Style Guide is a critical document enabling communication and adoption of style across a distributed development team.
Once approved, it is circulated among all stakeholders (project managers, developers, documenters, testers etc.).
The goal is to keep the guide as succinct as possible, so that it is accepted and used, and updated regularly as the style evolves (whenever new ideas and unforeseen use-case challenges arise).
The responsibility for producing, distributing and updating the style guide should rest with a style council, a single controlling authority which defines the overall style for the UI.
