Quintic and MEDUSA - Background
Quintic was founded in 1995 by key members of Computervision’s research and development team, who had many years of experience designing and developing the MEDUSA CAD system. The company quickly attracted additional and remarkable CAD, CAM, CAE and GIS talent, and formed a strong development partnership with MEDUSA's then-owners, Computervision. This relationship continued and prospered when Computervision and the MEDUSA product range were acquired by Parametric Technology Corporation® (PTC) in 1998.
Quintic's expertise was essential to the continued development and maintenance of MEDUSA, MPDS Plant Design, and the other MEDUSA modules. Quintic also became instrumental in the development of a new, powerful drafting plug-in for Pro/ENGINEER users: STHENO/PRO. In 2002, the MEDUSA and STHENO/PRO products were acquired by CAD Schroer Group (CSG), PTC’s primary and most successful MEDUSA reseller in Europe. CSG has shown unrelenting dedication to the further development of MEDUSA and STHENO/PRO, offering maintenance-paying customers real value for money, and Quintic has been the instrumental development partner in this endeavour. And now MEDUSA's 4th Generation inception, MEDUSA4, modernised and overhauled with state-of-the-art drafting and automation tools, is meeting with rave industry reviews.
In February 2005, Quintic joined forces with CAD Schroer GmbH. Quintic is now a division of CAD Schroer UK Ltd, still offering outsourced software development and consultancy services to partners throughout the world, as well as servicing the MEDUSA and STHENO/PRO markets.
