Flowmaster Limited

Flowmaster is a worldwide leader in the field of fluid flow analysis software. Headquartered in the UK, Flowmaster has regional offices across the globe, including Europe, North America, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia. As one of Flowmaster’s premier UK consultancy providers, Quintic has been acting as an independent third party advisor on GUI usability and design, contributing services ranging from user interface style guides to icon and symbol design. "We initially approached Quintic because we needed a neutral third party with expertise in both engineering software and GUI design. We were looking for an unbiased view of the UI style and user model appropriate for the next release of our Flowmaster software. Outsourcing this type of work to a new provider can be quite daunting, even when you know that an outside view is essential. Our experience with Quintic has been extremely positive. As a matter of fact, our Project Manager's initial reaction after receiving the first deliverables from Quintic was: ’Why didn’t we do this sooner?’ We work with a distributed development team, and the GUI Style Guide Quintic created for us was received exceptionally well by the entire development team (quite a feat!) and implemented immediately. Next came the design and development of icons and symbols for the latest software release. Inition - "Everything in 3D"

Inition is a cutting-edge centre of 3D expertise and technology with an unrivalled knowledge and product portfolio of all things 3D. Its offering includes 3D film and interactive content production and technology; a 3D product centre; and 3D printing and scanning.

Inition asked Quintic to port its latest development, MagicSymbol™ (a versatile interactive technology that allows people to display any 3D object on film, positioning it via a "magic symbol" held up to the camera) from Windows to Apple Mac. The project included porting of Windows MFC code to Mac OSX's UNIX platform, utilising third party products, such as ARToolkit®, OpenSceneGraph®, OpenProducer® and others.
