Web Application Development Projects

Quintic has delivered many Web-enabled solutions over the years, and our teams are always keeping up to date with the newest and most cost-effective technologies available. Many of our recent projects have focused on Web-enabling existing products, thus enhancing and giving a new lease of life to proven technologies.

MEDInfo - Global Engineering Document Management

MEDUSA4 MedInfo Document Management Application

Quintic's Web team recently delivered the MEDUSA4 MedInfo information and document management system to our development partner CAD Schroer, owner of the MEDUSA4 drafting suite. This development project consisted of a complete re-architecture of a LAN-based document management system, in order to provide a fully Web-based application, supporting world-wide access while minimising the system administration effort.

MEDUSA4 MedInfo provides functionality for controlling and updating all engineering-related data throughout the design process, to include bills of material, project documents, and technical drawings (electronic and paper-based designs).

The system allows engineers to easily find and incorporate parts from other drawings into their existing work. It can also track stock numbers and quantities, and supports complex procedures for document testing and release in aid of Total Quality Management, including the ISO 9000 standard.

Most importantly, the data management functionality, delivered through the user's Web browser, is available in a multi-user, multi-location environment, which provides for secure, controlled document access, and file-locking to prevent simultaneous editing. The entire system is highly customisable, and quickly adaptable to corporate styles and access requirements.

Web-based Process Management and E-learning Software

Web-based procedure and process management system developed by Quintic

This project involved the development of a Web-based application for online dissemination and communication of corporate processes and procedures for quality assurance, elearning and regulatory compliance. The software includes:

  • multi-user authoring
  • centralised user, role and access management
  • document management
  • automated flowchart creation and layout
  • multi-media, customisable presentation frames
  • automated review and release cycles
  • automatic change notification
  • online testing and assessments
  • The authoring module was written exclusively in Java, and is considered one of the largest (around 1/4 million lines of code) and most sophisticated Java-based software systems to be developed to date.
